The Polish Glacier Route is located on the eastern side of Aconcagua.  It is a high altitude climb of moderate technical difficulty to the tallest summit in the western hemisphere. Knowledge in glacier travel and self-rescue techniques are essential. This route, while an accomplishment in itself, is considered an excellent training exercise for the high altitude ascents of the Himalayas.
